Stop Smoking Service
Improve Health
The stop smoking service has been identified as a service that can avoid long term illness in patients who smoke or those affected by second hand smoke.
NHS Community pharmacies can help patients receive a stop smoking service through advice and support. The service promotes healthy behaviour to individuals via products such as patches, gum, inhalators and much more.
How the program works...
Patients will meet with the pharmacist every week for 12 weeks, and make a plan to help you quit smoking.
- Set your quit date
- Reasons for quitting
- Identify trigger factors
- Change behavioural outcome
Here the pharmacist can monitor your progress and the support needed to reach your goal. Every patient is different, and we find a combination that works for you.
