At your consultation, the pharmacist examines your ear and discusses your symptoms. They will explain the findings and next steps, including whether wax removal is appropriate or you need further assessment elsewhere.
Ear wax removal by microsuction
Microsuction uses a gentle suction machine to lift wax out of the ear canal. It’s quick, clean and doesn’t use water.

When to book
Ear wax is made naturally by the ear canal and helps protect it, but it can build up with dust, germs and irritation. Pop in for an ear consultation if you have:
- Muffled or reduced hearing
- Tinnitus, such as ringing or rustling noises
- Earache, itching or discomfort

When to seek urgent help

Is microsuction safe?

We recommend booking online so a pharmacist is free to see you, but you’re welcome to ask in store too.
